However, in recent days consumers have begged to differ regarding the company’s claim to protect against UVA & UVB radiation. Consumers have attacked the company for containing zinc oxide as one of its active ingredients as users became exposed to harsh sun burn damage. Many complaints by users demonstrated the product as failed showing severe burns on children and the product itself as greasy and stubborn. The social media backlash surfaced angry postings from consumers revealing physical damage by the products use. While this has caused a firestorm regarding the validity of the Honest Company’s brand, dermatologist Daniel Wasserman from Naples, FL ensures that the zinc oxide ingredient wouldn’t be to blame for the multiple sunburn complaints. Wasserman states that the active ingredient itself actually reflects the suns radiation and is also preferential to users with sensitive skin.
